Good
- Good warm up. Tidy and everyone is focused.
- Like the efforts that everyone keeps trying and trying
- Some good set ups for throw ins at attacking goal circle
- Communication during breaktime between players was encouraging
- Good 2 options

To be improved (LONG LIST)
- 2nd phase defence for centre passes
- Shooters rotation
- Feeding and placement of ball for shooters
- Shooters passing out to feeders
- Positioning of mid fielders at the goal circle
- Decision making and passes (taking too long to decide)
- Strong drive to the ball (angle of drive + change of speed + commit to the pass : meet the ball)
- Centre pass (1st timing option not available)
- 3 feets hands up pressure (no impact on thrower)
- Shooter inconsistent performance (need to steady down and convert the shot)

Good
- Good start to the game despite wet grounds
- Controlled passes
- Looking down court for options
- Using planned set ups
- Having more than 1 option
- Good second option timing down the court
- Space awareness
- Working together as a team

To be improved
- Ability to last 4 quarters of the game, not die off at the last 2 quarters
- Composure despite umpires "mis calls"
- Warm up ( We really need to work on this. Feel that the warm up is not good at all. Very "lan san" not serious. and not everyone knows what to do")
- Shots ( Especially the GAs! Practise running more then put up a shot )
- Need to be aware of where the defenders are and how they are reacting when feeding into the circle
- Quick recovery to put 3 feet
- Stronger denial of movement when defending
- Strong on 1st timing defence.
- Offering in the centre third (WA, GA & C) during our turnover from our defending goal third (clashing into each other or stationary)

LLABTEN CARNIVAL 2010

This year LLABTEN carnival was organized before chinese new year.

The welfare unit has decided that the carnival will be related to chinese new year.

The carnival was a success with the participation of BLAZE. The scorching hot sun in the afternoon makes every players energy drain out. In between the games we have fringe activities in order to make the carnival more enjoyable.

The winning team is Nian Shou follow by Ying Liu and Zhao Cai Mao.

Another two points for LLAB10 after winning Clinque Z 41-29!

Even though the game was drew at 10-10 after the first quarter,
LLAB10 didnt took long to show Clinque Z their difference and took the game in control.
Good job LLAB10 to make it a 2 out of 2 win!

LLABTEN took the baton from LLAB10 and stepped up against Speed on the same night. Despite the hardwork put in by the players, the club was not able to end the night with another win. Speed took the game 49-35.

Co-Captain Pei Shi was very grateful to all those who came and stayed on for the Speed game. Especially the third and most crucial quarter when everyone present whooshed together. "It was IMMENSE!", she exclaimed.

The week did not end there for the LLABTENians. They had to tidy up their mistakes and get ready for the game against the Singapore Sports School girls.

LLABTEN was up against the SSP1 on sat under the killer hot sun. Deborah was at Goal Attack while Siang was at Goal Shooter, something different from the Speed game after the team sorted things out. Tessa took the Wing Attack position with Centre MayJuan and Wing Defence Aver. Charlotte was started at Goal Defence and Mitch taking the last man position. Defenders worked really hard to create many turnovers for the attackers. Charlotte worked like the Elephant Super glue and denied the SSP Goal Attack from going anywhere near the pole. Mitch on the other hand work hard to cover the high balls coming in. Despite the many turnovers, LLABTEN was not quick enough to capitalise on the change in possession. Something that the team has to work on to let the pass go earlier. Coming to the last few seconds of the quarter, the team was behind the ssp1 by 2. Siang was spotted under the pole and a ball was sent in to her. SSP keeper tried to hold on to the 2 point lead by going hard on Siang. Siang suffered a head concussion but earned a penalty shot for the team. The court goes uncontrolled and players started to step out of court despite the penalty that was supposed to be awarded. Goal attack Debs demanded for the penalty from the umpire who lost control of the game. The quarter ended 11-12.

LLABTEN made changes to the attacking end with Sam at Goal Attack and Debs back at Goal Shooter. The attackers started to look down the court earlier and seeing that Debs could take the Keeper with ease, they started to send the balls in more boldly. LLABTEN had the most number of attempts (18) at this quarter. However, lactic acid started to build up and the intensity dropped. SSP1 widened the gap at 25-21.

Fresh legs came in for the third quarter. Siang was back at GS with Debs at GA. Mayjuan was replaced by Denise while Tessa and Aver swapped roles. LLABTEN sees Keeper Si Lun with Goal Defender Mitch out there for some runs. Team defence really worked for this quarter as we see the umpire calling out for a couple of held balls by the SSP1. Good work from Shooters as we see many good passes between the two shooters that caught the defenders unaware. However, passes have to be worked on to fully utilise the turnovers from the team. LLABTEN took the quarter 9-7.

Going into the last quarter, LLABTEN knew that they need to work really hard to convert their centre passes as well as working for turnovers to get the win. Many turnovers and opportunities were available in this quarter. Back to basics, placement of balls, runs and decision making have to be worked on to gain control of the game. The game ended 41-38 to SSP1!

LLABTEN will have a one week break from the enl. They will definitely work hard for the week and work towards the team goals.

Will LLABTEN outrun SPEED in their first enl game?

Even though we wont get to see Wing Defence Charlotte Howard in her cropped top, she will definitely amaze the crowd with her amazing sticky glue power. How will Circle Defender Cheong and Low worked together to grab all the rebounds for the team? Will Wing Defenders Howard and Woo be confused by Low's amazing voice from within?

Decisive Denise, Tactful Tessa, Aggressive Aver, Persistent Peishi and Malicious mayjuan made up the midcourt. With these much of backup available, the midcourt will definitely be providing 4quarters of excellence netball.

Will Shooter Deborah be able to bring her glory from the A division and bring the team to win again? Can injured Siang Ling endure the knocks and bangs from the Speed Defenders? Will Sam Lee scared the souls out of the speedies by her sharp shooting?

All the questions will be answered live on court tmr! (:

LLAB10 gained the first 2 points on the board after the win over Flame.

The game started with both teams filled with anxiety, causing them to commit unnecessary mistakes. LLAB10 started the quarter with Koh at Centre, Fong at Wing Attack, Wee at Goal attack and Goh at Goal Shooter. The attack was unsettled with Goh missing crucial shots and inaccurate passes from the team. Flame capitalised on LLAB10 unsettled attack and took the quarter with a 2 points lead with LLAB10 scoring only 6 points.

Second quarter saw senior players Bee and Zhen coming into the game. Keeper Amy Wee was more active on her feet, turning over several balls with Co Defender Yu. Pressured by Zhen, Shooter Shihui hold strongly for her blocks and got almost 100percent of her rebounds. It was a gloomy situation for Flame Defenders as they just stood by and watched Goh getting all the rebounds. The first half ended with LLAB10 turning the table around at 19-15.

The second half started with Flame making several substitutions. Shooter was pushed up to Keeper to attempt to stop the LLAB10 attack. However, there was little Flame Keeper could do to halt the passes coming to Shihui. LLAB10's attack was smooth flowing apart from some mis-passes from the feeders. Shihui continued to dominate the rebounds. Centre Shiyun played a more defensive role and turnover crucial attempts with Goal Defence Bernice coming back into the game after a breather. Wing Attack Koh worked hard in her defensive roles and disrupted Flame's play with several tips. LLAB10 entered the final quarter leading at 29-20.

Hoping to work out the mistakes in the 1st quarter. The same attacking lineup was in placed for LLAB10. Wing Defence Marianna worked hard on her attacker denying almost all her first runs. However, after the rain started, LLAB10 seems to go down with the temperature. Wing Attack Fong struggled to catch the wild and high passes from her teammates. Flame started burning despite the rain and turned over 3 of LLAB10 Centre passes, scoring 5 in a row. However, this fire came too late and the turnovers were not enough to make up for the deficit earlier. The game ended in the rain with LLAB10 winning the game 36-28.

Goal Attack Wee commented on the good efforts by defenders against Flame. However, she feels that the team have to work harder on the basics like the runs and passes for the upcoming games. For Wee's individual, she hope to continue working hard to build her stamina to last the game and give herself more opportunities to attempt the shots.

Co-Captain Ong Pei Shi shared the same as Wee. She commented that the team defence did a good job against the opponents. Ong also feels that the team attack could have been smoother if the team was more steady and not rushing their passes.

Co-Captain Samantha Ong had gone into greater details in terms of individual players. This is what she mentioned:
Koh-centre pass defending was tight, BUT can be tighter with more communication.
Fong-Good takes, however can work harder to get rid of the defender.

Wee-Good fake pass to co-shooter

Both teams are not to be trifled!
Who will edge out to be the winner?

Will shooters Miss Wee Li Ting and Miss Melissa Megan be able to work under the pressure of the Flame Defenders? Look out for Wee's sneaky passes to spinner shooter Melissa! They will be out to catch the defenders unaware! Let's hope Miss Goh Shihui will be able to take time off to give us some exciting actions to bump the opponents off! How many is she going to trampled on sat?!

Expect speedy dodges from WA Magdalene Small. How will Shine Koh and Mag Small work together to convert LLAB10's centre passes? Will Asst Coach Miss Ong Chin Chin wear the bibs on sat, or will she just stand by and coach the team?

The defence unit led by captain Goh Shiyun and Vice Captain Marianna will be out there to deny any attack that is entering their defence territory. With almost all the defenders, Bee, Huimin, Bernice and Amy, who will be present on saturday. LLAB10 will be able to send the fresh legs in constantly to turn over the balls and provide the attempts for the shooters.
